Journey through the red wines of the Padua tradition: from the wines of the Serenissima to the Bordeaux varieties of the Euganean Hills.
We will begin the tasting with a short walk through the vineyard, to discover the wine where it is born.
The Vigne del Pigozzo are located in two wine-growing areas of great interest: the DOC Colli Euganei area, a volcanic territory where varieties like Merlot and Cabernet have flourished happily for over 150 years and from which great red wines are produced; the DOC Bagnoli area, whose principal grape variety, Friularo, is distinguished by its strong character with significant tannins and acidity, making it a wine suitable for long aging, ideal for the heartier dishes of the Venetian peasant tradition.
Then we will move to the cellar for a tasting conducted directly by the winemakers Giorgio, Rosanna, or Francesca, who will be happy to adapt it to your interests and satisfy your curiosities.
Through the wines, we will discover the rich history of a region with a long winemaking tradition: we will return to the era of the Venetians with indigenous wines such as Friularo and Turchetta, and we will approach the present day with Bordeaux varieties that have been yielding surprising results in these volcanic lands for over 150 years. All accompanied by pairing suggestions with local products such as sopressa and typical cheeses from the area.
