The Giovanni Fontana Salumificio in Este (PD) opens its doors for a unique experience among the history, aromas, and flavors of excellent Venetian cured meats. Two visit sessions – at 3:30 PM and 5:00 PM – to discover up close how one of the gastronomic symbols of the territory is made: the Prosciutto Veneto DOP.
The event, titled “True Excellences of Veneto”, will take participants on a true sensory journey into the heart of Fontana's artisanal production, a historical reality active since 1941 and now in its third generation. The visit will be led by Paola Fontana, granddaughter of the founder Giovanni, who will share the family history and the deep connection with the city of Este.
During the experience, participants will closely learn about the stages of processing the prosciutto and cooked cured meats, made with natural spices and selected ingredients, blending tradition and creativity. The visit will conclude with a tasting of Prosciutto Veneto DOP and Fontana Salami, accompanied by a glass of wine from the Euganean Hills.
Duration: about 1.5 hours
