The film festival returns on the theme of rights, civil engagement, and participation in the garden of the Villa Bassi Rathgeb Museum.
“La Grazia,” a film directed by Paolo Sorrentino, is an imaginary portrait of Mariano De Santis, the President of the Republic at the end of his term. Widowed for eight years from his wife Aurora, whom he misses dearly, a Catholic and author of a criminal law manual described as the Himalayan K3, he has two children: Dorotea, a jurist like him, who is always by his side and monitors his meals for a healthy diet; Riccardo, a musician (but not of the classical music he had hoped for), lives in Montreal. In the last months of his term, he also discovers his nickname, "Reinforced concrete." But above all, he faces two moral dilemmas. The first concerns the request for clemency for Isa Rocca, who killed her husband in his sleep after being abused for a long time, and for Cristiano Arpa, who killed his wife suffering from Alzheimer's. The second: he does not know whether to sign the euthanasia law or not. These are doubts that torment him, along with a past that resurfaces multiple times, and he seeks to uncover hidden truths.
Admission € 4.00, free for children up to 6 years old, subject to availability; unnumbered seating.
Admission to the garden starting at 8:30 p.m.
