The 41st edition of the Giostra della Rocca, an extraordinary medieval reenactment event, will bring Monselice back to the turbulent and extraordinary period when Emperor Frederick II of Swabia, the Stupor Mundi, passed through the city.
To inaugurate the event, on Friday, September 11, there will be the Medieval Banquet in Piazza Mazzini.
Following will be on Saturday September 12 the competition of the historical archers and the relay race, and Sunday, September 13 will be the day dedicated to the Stone Grinding Competition at the Medieval Market, a reenactment of ancient activities and craft shops.
On Monday September 14 the final of the Grand Chess Tournament will take place in Piazza Mazzini with a living chessboard. Meanwhile, on Thursday, September 17 the groups of musicians and drummers will compete in the spectacular Musical Choreographic Tournament.
Grand finale on Sunday, September 20 with the grandiose Historical Parade featuring over 2000 costumed participants and, in the afternoon, the 9 Contrade will compete in the breathtaking Mounted Quintana.
