Between psychological thriller and eccentric family comedy (the favored terrain until now of director Rebecca Zlotowski, author of A Summer with Sofia and Other People's Children), the story of Lilian, a rational and self-confident psychoanalyst (a superb Jodie Foster even in her French version), who begins to "derail" when one of her patients dies by suicide. Suspecting it to be a murder, Lilian starts to investigate and, of course, begins to doubt herself and her abilities, until she submits to a hypnosis session. And here the worlds blur. Doubts, certainties, insecurities, the past, other lives, and suspicions chase each other on the haughty and priceless face of Jodie Foster, surrounded by Daniel Auteuil (her ex-husband) and Virginie Efira and Mathieu Amalric (the victim and her ambiguous partner).
