The villa of Valnogaredo, dating from the 16th century on the land of the Contarini family, was rebuilt in Lombard style after a fire and passed to Doge Domenico II in 1569.
In the 18th century, Domenico IV Contarini expanded the complex, adding the garden with statues and water features, while Giulio III decorated the interiors with stuccos and frescoes.
After the end of the Contarini dynasty, the property changed various owners until it was acquired by the Piva family, who restored it in the 1960s.
The villa showcases a sober 18th-century style, with a hallway on the noble floor illuminated by a trifora on a stone balcony, and a barchessa with arches and small windows along the median axis of the arches.
The interiors display stuccos and frescoes, likely by Andrea Urbani and Jacopo Guarana, depicting games, weddings, country festivities, and allegorical figures.
