A journey into 18th century Venice to reflect on themes of freedom, power, and customs. This is the guiding theme of the meeting promoted by the Equal Opportunities Commission of the Municipality of Este, scheduled for Thursday, July 16 at 9.00 p.m. in the Brolo of Palazzo Sartori Borotto.
The guest of the evening will be Tommaso Scaramella, author of the book An Infamous Doge, who will have a dialogue with Alberto Di Chiara. At the center of the meeting is the story of Alvise V Sebastiano Mocenigo, a candidate for the dogate in 1789, an emblematic episode that offers an original perspective on Venetian society on the eve of the fall of the Serenissima and on the delicate balance between public morality, power, and individual freedom.
The initiative, realized in collaboration with the cultural association EnnESIMA of Este, is part of the in-depth activities promoted by the Equal Opportunities Commission. Admission is free.
