A new curtain is about to rise on the cultural scene of Este. The Theater dei Filodrammatici presents the 47th Prose Season 2026/27, an event now well-established for theater enthusiasts and for all those who wish to experience moments of culture, fun, and sharing.
The festival, promoted by the Compagnia Teatro Veneto “Città di Este”, offers ten performances from October to March, with a program capable of traversing different epochs, languages, and atmospheres. The protagonist will especially be comedy, in its many shades: from the brilliant to the popular, from the contemporary to the Venetian tradition, not forgetting moments of reflection and memory.
Opening the season on October 25 will be Nothing to Declare? by Hennequin and Veber. This will be followed by The Party Ghosts by Riccardo Selvatico, A Very United Family and Hamlet with a Spicy Twist by Aldo Nicolaj. The calendar will continue in December with Beatrice is My Name by Viviana Larcati, a show dedicated to the figure of Beatrice I d’Este on the eighth centenary of her death.
The new year will bring to the stage Closed for Holidays by Silvio Olin, DNA Tiny Variations by Dennis Kelly, and one of the great classics of Venetian theater, The Rusteghi by Carlo Goldoni. The season will close with Excuse Me, Do You Want to Marry My Husband? by Stefano Palmucci and, on March 7, The Good Wife, also by Goldoni.
