Nora and Agnes are two deeply connected sisters. The sudden return of their father Gustav – a charismatic and charming director but a chronically unreliable parent – reopens wounds that have never fully healed. Knowing Nora's talent as an actress, Gustav wants his daughter to play the lead role in the film that is supposed to revive his career; she refuses, and that part goes to a young Hollywood star, Rachel Kemp. Her arrival disrupts the delicate dynamics of the family: it will be the moment for the two sisters to confront their father and their past.
