On Sunday, November 1, the municipal gym of Baone will host the first edition of the Baone International Cup, a day of sports, inclusion, and solidarity. The protagonists will be the Sealand Supersonics, the national basketball team of the Principality of Sealand, a self-proclaimed micronation in the North Sea, ready to play the first game in its history against the Boars Baone.
The four-team tournament, organized in collaboration with Uisp Padova, will also feature the National Women and Men Journalists and Over Sport Italia, a team made up of female athletes over 55 united by their passion for basketball. There will also be space for minibasket and baskin, for a celebration open to all generations.
The program will kick off at 3:00 p.m. with baskin, followed at 4:00 p.m. by a minibasket demonstration. At 5:00 p.m., the first semifinal between Boars and Sealand will take place, followed by the second match at 6:00 p.m.; finals will be held at 7:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m.
But the most important outcome will be off the court: the entire proceeds will be donated to “A Step for Aurora”, the fundraising initiative to support the care and growth journey of Aurora, a girl from Monselice born with a rare malformation of her left leg.
