The summer of 2026 for the Civic Monuments of Este offers a calendar of events dedicated to the discovery of the city's historical, artistic, and cultural heritage through engaging experiences designed for both locals and visitors.
The first event, scheduled for June 21, is “Between Alleys and Canals,” a bike tour of approximately 20 kilometers exploring the most picturesque corners of Este. An easy route, among waterways, hidden views, and historical curiosities, which includes a guided visit to the prestigious Reading Room, housed in the historic Scaliger Palace of the Captain, and concludes with an aperitif overlooking the Gardens of the Carrarese Castle. The event is free, with the possibility of bike rental by reservation.
On June 28, it will be the turn of “Troubadours and Poets at the Court of the Estensi,” a thematic guided tour that will take participants into the world of medieval poetry and troubadour tradition. The experience will be enriched by a welcome tasting and a climb to the summit of the Mastio Tower, from which to admire the panorama of the city.
Finally, on July 25, the evocative Church of the Beata Vergine della Salute will host “Women and Symbols of the Old Testament,” a meeting led by Professor Marco Zambon from the University of Padua. A journey through art, history, and spirituality to explore the role and symbolic significance of female figures in biblical tradition and their artistic representation over the centuries.
Three appointments to experience Este from new perspectives, between culture, landscape, and memory.
