via Sette Chiese Monselice 35043 Monselice
Santuario Giubilare delle Sette Chiese
Location: Monselice
With a bull from Pope Paul V dated November 12, 1605, the same conditions and privileges are granted to the pilgrims visiting this Sanctuary as those granted to the pilgrims visiting the Roman basilicas, including the plenary indulgence. After passing through the Holy Door, the chapels of Santa Maria Maggiore, San Giovanni in Laterano, Santa Croce in Gerusalemme, San Lorenzo fuori le mura, San Sebastiano, San Pietro, and San Paolo follow. The complex concludes with the Oratory of San Giorgio, where among others, San Valentino rests.
Every year on February 14, the feast day of St. Valentine, a spontaneous pilgrimage of the faithful takes place to the Oratory of San Giorgio, where the rite of blessing and giving of the small golden keys is celebrated, which according to tradition protect children from epilepsy and, in general, are a gift exchanged by lovers and those who care for one another.
