The event aims to convey to participants the importance of this Saint's figure, who, in addition to being a cornerstone of the Catholic Church, is recognized among the first to use the Italian vernacular in his writings, alongside the poets of the Sicilian School and prose writers like Brunetto Latini.
“Trial of Francis” should not be understood as an analysis and judgment of the Saint, but rather as an understanding of the sequence of events or phenomena that led to Franciscanism and their historical-cultural contextualization.
The performance features the extraordinary participation of the Gregorian chant choir “Ensamble del coro Gino Spadati,” directed by Maestro Stefania Martin.
