In 2027, the Abbey of St. Stephen of Carrara will celebrate an extraordinary milestone: 1000 years since its founding, one of the most significant anniversaries in our local history. With the conference "The Abbey of St. Stephen of Carrara. A Thousand Years of History," Paolo Valandro, a scholar and passionate researcher of local history, will accompany us on a fascinating journey through ten centuries of historical, architectural, and artistic events: from its founding in 1027 by Litolfo da Carrara, to the rise of the abbey as one of the most important medieval monasteries in Veneto, to the artworks and restorations that still testify to its immense historical and cultural value today. An opportunity to get to know more closely a monument that represents a heritage of extraordinary importance for our community and to approach the celebrations of its Millennium (1027-2027).
