On the occasion of the Eighth Centenary of the Death of Saint Francis (1226-2026), the City of Monselice, through the Department of Culture and the Volunteers of the Pro Loco, with the idea of Roberto Valandro and the general coordination of Ylenia Cavestro — promotes a series of commemorative and cultural initiatives from September to November.
The program opens at the SanPaolo Museum with the exhibition "The Narrating Nativity Scene of Alberto Roveroni and the Monselician Iconography among Works, Medals, and Prints", on display from September 26 to November 8, with an inauguration on September 26 at 5:00 p.m. On October 3 at 8:00 p.m., there will be the "Transito di San Francesco", a traveling commemoration and choreographic procession curated by the Giostra della Rocca together with the Parishes of the Duomo and San Giacomo. The following day, October 4, the SanPaolo Museum will host a special postal cancellation from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., promoted by the "Ida Lenti Brunello" Philatelic-Numismatic Circle. The celebrations will continue on October 10 at 4:00 p.m. at the Old Duomo with From the "Fioretti di S. Francesco", a moment of recitations and choreographic-musical representations with the participation of the "A Passo di Danza" School and the Polyphonic Academy of Monselice. On October 23 at 8:00 p.m., the Church of San Giacomo will host the Concert dedicated to the Centenary, performed by the San Giacomo Choir directed by Riccardo Bulgarelli. The entire cycle of events will conclude on November 13 at 8:00 p.m. with the Franciscan Dinner organized by the Contrada di San Giacomo at the Parish Hall.
