Dario (Riccardo Scamarcio) is the father of a disabled child, to whom he dedicates all care and attention, and he has a deep bond with his brother's teenage son. The growing complicity with his nephew leads him to recognize in him the son he wished he had and, almost unconsciously, to take on the role of the father he could have been. But this game of projections, unexpressed needs, and desires progressively alters his inner balance and questions the relationship with his own son. What seems like an affectionate and innocent relationship thus transforms into an ambiguous and dangerous bond, capable of overwhelming the balances of the whole family.
