D’Annunzio Rooms
Guided visit to the rooms that housed Gabriele D'Annunzio during his stay at the Castle of San Pelagio, on the occasion of the flight over Vienna on August 9, 1918: a propaganda mission in which thousands of leaflets were dropped thanks to the flight conceived by D'Annunzio. The rooms, restored according to archive sources, are now fully accessible. They preserve the memories of the life and flight of the poet-soldier and the furnishings of the Zaborra family, who owned the Castle since 1752.
Museum of Flight
Among the halls of the Castle of San Pelagio, a unique museum in Europe, the most extraordinary human endeavor is recounted: flight! The exhibition pathway includes sections dedicated to mythology, the first attempts at flight, and the evolution of the fascinating and romantic hot air balloons, the airplane, the seaplane, and the helicopter.
Rose and Labyrinth Park
Visit the enchanting historic garden of the Castle of San Pelagio, a delightful place rich in plant essences and scented by thousands of roses that, especially in May, make the walk spectacular! In the three hectares of greenery, one can find the typical elements of Venetian villas: formal garden, secret garden, orchard, hornbeam hedge, labyrinths, fish pond, and the original icehouse.
