On October 17 and 18, 2026, the Day of the Venetian Villas returns, a long weekend dedicated to the discovery and enhancement of the Venetian and Friulian Villas. In Veneto and Friuli Venezia Giulia, hundreds of historic residences will open their doors offering special experiences among art, history, nature, culture, and traditions.
In Este, the protagonist will be Villa Contarini degli Scrigni, known as "Vigna Contarena," an enchanting and little-known residence, completely hidden from view and beautifully preserved. For the occasion, the family, who has inhabited and preserved the Villa for five generations, will accompany visitors to discover the garden and the Noble Floor.
The visit will allow you to explore the ancient hunting lodge of the Contarini degli Scrigni, a refined refuge of the Venetian aristocracy, and immerse yourself in the timeless atmosphere of its Secret Garden, an extraordinary eighteenth-century Persian garden. Among centuries-old trees and the towers of the castle of Este, the autumn of the Colli Euganei will provide the backdrop for an intimate and evocative experience during the grape harvest.
