In the evocative setting of the walled city of Este, amidst the archaeological collections of the National Atestino Museum, the public will have the opportunity to participate in a meeting dedicated to the history of Venetian ceramics and its intense commercial relationships in the Mediterranean from the Middle Ages to the Modern Age.
The volume Ancient Ceramics in Venice. Productions and Imports from the 11th to the 17th Century, published by Linea Edizioni, offers a fascinating journey through centuries of artisanal production, commercial exchanges, and cultural contaminations that have contributed to making Venice one of the most important artistic and mercantile centers in Europe.
Presenting the book will be the author herself, Francesca Saccardo, accompanied by an introduction from the museum director. The meeting will provide the public with the opportunity to deepen their understanding of the historical, artistic, and archaeological value of ancient ceramics, a precious testimony of daily life, taste, and economic relations of the past.
The presentation will take place on Saturday, May 16, 2026, at 4:30 p.m. at the National Atestino Museum, located at 9/c G. Negri Street. Admission is free until seating is filled.
An event dedicated to culture, research, and the enhancement of the historical heritage of the territory, capable of combining scientific dissemination and the promotion of Venetian cultural excellence.
