ETNOFILMfest 2026 presents “The talisman, the mantra and the rose – practices of the sacred in the contemporary world.” The 14th edition explores, through ethnographic documentary cinema, rituals, symbols, traditions and new spiritualities, telling how the sacred continues to manifest in daily life and give meaning to human experience.
On Friday, October 9, ETNOFILMfest opens with the presentation of the book The capital of the soul by Marino Niola, dedicated to Naples as a symbolic space between sacred and profane. At 9:00 p.m. Gianfranco Pannone presents Devotions (2026), a journey through the internal Lucania between popular faith, rituals, memory, nature and the search for a contemporary spirituality.
On Saturday, October 10, ETNOFILMfest offers an open class with Gianfranco Pannone on cinema of the real and the relationship between territories and diversity. In the afternoon, three competing documentaries explore madness, devotion and memory. At 6:00 p.m. Franco Piavoli presents Festival. The day concludes with Renato Morelli and a cinematic journey into the spirituality of Mount Athos.
On Sunday, October 11, ETNOFILMfest presents documentaries on cult, memory, migrations and spirituality: from Maria Lionza to Miracle in Maiori, Muzungu Sweets, The dream of minors and Inochi, the vital breath. At 5:00 p.m. Bebetta Campeti presents The wounded healer. At 6:00 p.m. the festival awards ceremony. The day closes with the concert Graal by Vincenzo Zitello and Fulvio Renzi.
