The film review returns on the theme of rights, civic engagement, and participation in the garden of the Villa Bassi Rathgeb Museum.
“Five Seconds” is a film directed by Paolo Virzì. Adriano Sereni is a fifty-year-old man living as a recluse in a former stable. He doesn't let anyone into his home, not even the technician to repair the boiler, or the postman who delivers registered letters destined to remain unopened, and he only eats canned food that he leaves around his messy residence. He hardly washes anymore and "smells a bit," as his friend Giuliana Marziali, who was his partner in a major law firm, says: because Adriano was a successful lawyer before a tragic event shattered his life in two. Giuliana tries to convince him to appear in court - yes, the registered letters were court summonses - but he only agrees because it seems like an opportunity to see his son Matteo, who is living with his ex-wife, to whom he sends daily messages that go unanswered. Meanwhile, in the abandoned villa opposite the stables, a group of young people camp out, led by the determined Matilde, who wants to plant vines and make wine, disturbing the grumpy hermit.
