The Church of Santa Maria Assunta, the historical focal point of Cinto Euganeo, has documented origins dating back to the 10th century and sits on an ancient medieval tower, the remains of which can be seen at the base of the bell tower.
The single-nave structure houses three altars: the main altar, with Carrara marble statues of the Virgin, the Archangel Gabriel, two angels, and two saints, created by Francesco Rizzi in the second half of the 18th century, and two side altars made of carved wood from the 16th century.
Often confused with the church of Arquà Petrarca, where the poet is buried, the church of Cinto nonetheless retains its central role in the village.
