The Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Bresega di Ponso is the main place of worship for the community and boasts a documented history since 1482, when a pastoral visit cited it as a parish dependent on the parish church of Santa Tecla d'Este. However, its origins are older but remain uncertain as the parish archives were destroyed in the fire of 1702.
Over the centuries, the building has undergone numerous interventions: it was enlarged in 1522, rebuilt in 1695, equipped with a choir in 1771, and given its façade in the early 19th century. Between 1886 and 1888, large windows were opened, the altars were restored, and the roof was raised. The new bell tower was inaugurated in 1937.
Severely damaged during World War II, the church was restored, and in 1950, the main altar and the side altars were redone; on November 18 of the same year, it was re-dedicated to the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
The building features a single nave with four side altars dedicated to Saint Lucia, the Madonna, Saint Joseph, and the Sacred Heart. The interior is embellished with pilasters, columns, a painted sail ceiling, and the choir with an organ. Between 2009 and 2014, it underwent an important conservative restoration project that ensured its protection and enhancement.
