In 2026, Este and Baone invite you on a unique journey through history, faith, and beauty to celebrate the 800th anniversary of the devotion to Blessed Beatrice I d'Este. From March to June, the city and the territory come alive with a rich calendar weaving together spirituality and historical reenactment, offering visitors an authentic immersion into the Estense Middle Ages.
It begins with the exhibition "The Estenses in Este: the feudal origins" at the Reading Room, inaugurated on March 26, accompanied by conferences that tell the story and life of Beatrice. In April, the city blooms with "Este in Bloom – The Gardens of Beatrice" and the opening of the evocative relic exhibition in the Cathedral, the heart of devotion.
The Castle becomes the stage for engaging experiences: educational games for the younger ones and the reenactment "At the court of the Estenses," featuring knights, trades, and shows. On Mount Gemola, a symbolic place of Blessed Beatrice's monastic life, nature and spirituality are celebrated with excursions, ancient crafts, and the reopening of Villa Beatrice.
May represents the climax: conferences, concerts, the Biblical Festival, and the solemn Feast of Blessed Beatrice on May 10, amidst celebrations, pilgrimages, and historical parades. There are also moments of cultural reflection with scholars like Franco Cardini and captivating artistic events, culminating in the final miracle play in June.
An unmissable opportunity to discover Este and be guided, step by step, in the footsteps of a woman who profoundly marked the history and identity of the territory.
