On Sunday, November 8, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., at the Sala della Loggetta in Monselice, located at Via del Santuario 6, there will be "San Francesco and Belzoni. Two Lives, One Destiny", promoted by the Belzoni Cultural Association.
The initiative arises on the occasion of two significant anniversaries: the 800th anniversary of the death of Saint Francis of Assisi and the 203rd anniversary of the passing of Giovanni Battista Belzoni, the famous explorer from Padua, whose 248th birth anniversary is also being commemorated.
The event will provide an original comparison between two personalities who have left a mark in history, albeit in deeply different fields. Saint Francis, through his message of peace, simplicity, and care for others, and Giovanni Battista Belzoni, thanks to his ventures and significant archaeological discoveries made in Egypt, represent two different ways of interpreting research and knowledge.
The meeting will be led by Vincenzo Cùnsolo, president of the Belzoni Cultural Association, with the participation of the artist and performer Isawianne D'Arch, who will contribute to enrich the narrative through artistic expression.
An appointment dedicated to enhancing historical and cultural memory, which will offer the public the opportunity to deepen their understanding of two significant figures through a narrative that intertwines history, spirituality, and art.
